Description	:	(Pawnee Republican, Pawnee City, NE Feb. 26, 2009) ALICE JANE RUE Alice Jane Rue (VanDeventer) Rue, 76, of Humboldt, Nebraska, was born on November 22, 1932, near Stella, Nebraska to Lester M. and Hazel Alberta (James) VanDeventer. She attended grade school in Stella and was baptized at the Stella Community Church in 1943. Alice later graduated from Stella High School with the class of 1950. Read More	(Pawnee Republican, Pawnee City, NE Feb. 26, 2009) ALICE JANE RUE Alice Jane Rue (VanDeventer) Rue, 76, of Humboldt, Nebraska, was born on November 22, 1932, near Stella, Nebraska to Lester M. and Hazel Alberta (James) VanDeventer. She attended grade school in Stella and was baptized at the Stella Community Church in 1943. Alice later graduated from Stella High School with the class of 1950. In September of 1953, Alice was united in marriage to Les Phillips at her parents house in Stella, Nebraska. To this union, three children: Peggy, Leslie, and Jan, were born. After Les died in 1973, Alice was united in marriage to Andy Rue in Las Vegas, Nevada. During her life, Alice lived numerous places including Pawnee City, Weeping Water, Arlington, Texas, and finally retiring in Humboldt, Nebraska. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Pawnee City and the Harvey-Mann Legion Auxiliary in Humboldt. Alice enjoyed lunch everyday with her friends in Stella at the "round table". She enjoyed music, collecting music boxes, and playing the piano. Alice died at her home in Humboldt, Nebraska on Sunday, February 15, 2009, having reached the age of seventy-six years, two months, and twenty-four days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Les Phillips and Andy Rue; son Leslie Phillips; and brothers: Howard, Harold, and Frank VanDeventer. Alice is survived by her brothers: Walter VanDeventer and his wife Millie, Ray VanDeventer and his wife Lois, Tom VanDeventer and his wife Pat; sisters: Jean Cook, Joan Wheeler and her husband Keith; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Michael Schmidt officiating. Inurnment was in the Humboldt Cemetery.
