Read More	ASHLAND PIONEER DIES IN SOUTH DAKOTA Established Drug Store in Ashland in Early Seventies An Uncle of Mr. Ray Reasoner Obituary A sturdy Black Hills pioneer was called home January 26, 1924, when Andrew Marble died at Keystone at the age of ninety years and twenty-six days. He was the son of Hiram Marble, a lumber merchant of Portsmouth, Me. While a young man the family moved to Illinois to engage in the lumber business, and the village of Marblestown, Ill. was named for them. Later the family moved to Ashland, Nebr., where the son became a druggist, real estate operator and county judge of Saunders county. In 1868 Mr. Marble married Sarah Brush, of Ashland, who died December 11, 1897. Five children were seven born to them, two daughters dying in infancy. One son, John H Marble of Washington, D. C., died November 21, 1913 and daughter, Mrs. Thomas G. Hoy of Keystone died November , 1923. One daughter survives him, Mrs. Carson Reynolds, of Sheridan, Wyo., and two granddaughters, Edith Helen Hoy and Nell Katheryn Reynolds. Also one sister, Mrs. John Darr, of Tacoma Wash. Andrew Marble came to the Black Hills in 1877, locating in Deadwood. Later engaged in the drug business in Rapid City, Hermosa and Keystone. Wherever he lived he was highly respected for his sterling honesty, unfailing integrity and thorough neighborliness. In 1870 he affiliated with the Masonic lodge of Ashland, and at the time of his death he was a member of Mt. Aetna Lodge No. 128 of Keystone, and the Masonic Veterans association of South Dakota. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church, Keystone, on Monday afternoon. Rev. William Drysdale, of Custer, Master Mason conducting the services at the church, and John F. Schrader, of Rapid City, conducting the Masonic services at the cemetery. He was buried beside his daughter, Mrs.Hoy and grandson, John Marble Hoy.
