Description	:	It is with great sadness that the family of Angus Charles Napean Byers, 88, of Lunenburg announces his passing on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Veteran's Unit of Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Lunenburg on April 9, 1925, Angus was the son of the son of the late Fred and Edna (Conrad) Byers. Angus served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service. Read More	It is with great sadness that the family of Angus Charles Napean Byers, 88, of Lunenburg announces his passing on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Veteran's Unit of Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Lunenburg on April 9, 1925, Angus was the son of the son of the late Fred and Edna (Conrad) Byers. Angus served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service. After the War he worked with his father in the family business Fred Byers Plumbing and Heating until the early 80's. He then went to work as a plumber with Acadia Gas, Can Do Industries and after retirement helping his son Richard when required. Active in his community Angus was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, over the years an avid curler at the Lunenburg Curling Club, a member of the Marine Search and Rescue and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23, Lunenburg. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends boating and at the family camp at Nine Mile Lake and hunting with his good friend Rex. We have been blessed to have known such a wonderful man. Angus is survived by his sons, Richard (Bernadette) of Lunenburg and Stephen of Alberta; brother, David of Halifax; granddaughters, Laura, Michelle, Nicole, Olivia and Philicity, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Frances and an infant sister. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A memorial service to celebrate Angus' life will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg with Rev. Vivian S. Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest, Cemetery, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
