She was the adored wife of Paul R. Jacobs, Sr. to whom she was married on May 3, 1947. (Langlois) Jacobs, 81, of Phillips Street, Attleboro died on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the Pleasant Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Attleboro where she had been a short-time resident. She was the adored wife of Paul R. Jacobs, Sr. to whom she was married on May 3, 1947. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on January 13, 1924, she was the loving daughter of the late Joseph E. and Jennie (Pelletier) Langlois. She was a lifelong Attleboro resident and was a 1942 graduate of Attleboro High School. She later enrolled in technical courses associated with her career goals and objectives. In October of last year, Mrs. Jacobs retired at the age of 80 from her full-time position at E. A. Dion in Attleboro where she had worked five days a week/ 32 hours a week for the past 17 years. Previously, Mrs. Jacobs was employed by the John Hancock Insurance Company Agency in Plainville for more than 25 years and as a customer service representative for the former First National Bank in Attleboro for 7 years. She was a communicant of St. Stephen's Church, Attleboro. Mrs. Jacobs will be remembered as a vibrant, hard-working woman dedicated to her family in every way. Her husband, children and in later years, her grandchildren and great grandchildren played a pivotal part of her life. Family was the true essence of her happiness and her favorite time was spent as "hostess" to the traditional Sunday dinners held at her home each week. Her cooking was known to rival even the best of restaurants. Wide ranging in her cooking abilities, she could prepare fancy French cuisine, Hawaiian specialties and food from every nationality and region of the world. However, her true "fame to claim" was her "chowda" and clam cakes whose recipe is even used today by some local restaurants. She enjoyed dancing and her daily runs until double knee surgery years ago after which she took up walking and down hill skiing at the age of 55. Mrs. Jacobs was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. In addition to her husband of 58 years, she leaves her children: Paul R. Jacobs, Jr. of Plainville and twins: Gayle A. Jacobs of Attleboro and Gery N. Jacobs of Plainville; two grandchildren: Sherri Parker and her husband, City of Attleboro Mayoral Candidate Thomas Parker, of Attleboro and Joseph A. Borges of Attleboro; four great grandchildren: Lindsay Parker and Kacie Parker both of Attleboro and Evan Borges and Jacob Borges both of Attleboro; a sister: Theresa Bieniecki of Attleboro and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Norman Langlois, Estelle Langlois and Cecile Harris. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 10:00 AM in St. Stephen's Church, South Main Street, Attleboro with the Rev. James Morse, Pastor, officiating. Private burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Attleboro. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM in the "Robinson Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
