Description	:	Ann Christopher married James Fulton on October 6, 1786, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was 19 and he was 33. After marrying, James took his young bride back to his home in Pennsylvania where he farmed. Records available from that time indicate that the couple had at least four children, perhaps more, all born in Pennsylvania. In 1807 the family returned to Baltimore, Maryland, it was thought perhaps to be closer to Ann's parents, John and Susannah (Saddon) Christopher. It was most probable that the War of 1812 was the reason the family left Maryland and moved back... Read More	Ann Christopher married James Fulton on October 6, 1786, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was 19 and he was 33. After marrying, James took his young bride back to his home in Pennsylvania where he farmed. Records available from that time indicate that the couple had at least four children, perhaps more, all born in Pennsylvania. In 1807 the family returned to Baltimore, Maryland, it was thought perhaps to be closer to Ann's parents, John and Susannah (Saddon) Christopher. It was most probable that the War of 1812 was the reason the family left Maryland and moved back to Pennsylvania for a short time. In 1814, James and Ann left Pennsylvania and moved with their three youngest children to Ross County, Ohio. It is believed they traveled by raft or boats on rivers, which were the only highways of that time. Ann's husband James is listed in the 1830 Ross County, Ohio, census only, so it is believed that he died sometime between then and 1840. The 1850 Ross County census shows that Ann was living with her daughter, Ann Nancy Immel, also widowed. In 1852, Ann Immel with her two sons and Ann Fulton, her aged mother, traveled by covered wagon to Jefferson County, Iowa where several other family members had previously moved to. The family were some of the areas earliest pioneers. Ann Fulton died at the age of 91 and was buried next to a grandson in the Immel plot in the old City of Fairfield cemetery. Note: Contributor Lyle Fulton is a direct descendent of Ann Fulton. She is my paternal g-g-g-grandmother.
