Published Tuesday, September 5, 1961 in the CUMBERLAND EVENING TIMES, Cumberland, Maryland on page 24, col. 3. ~~Saturday, September 16, 1961~~ Injuries Fatal To Mrs. Mann Was Hurt When Horse Fell And Rolled On Her Mrs. Ann Geraldine (Kirby) Mann, 29, of Bedford Road, died early today in Columbia Hospital at Wilkinsburg, Pa., from injuries she suffered when a horse she was riding fell and rolled on top of her September 3 in nearby Bedford County. She was first taken to Bedford County Memorial Hospital and later taken to the Wilkinsburg institution where she underwent surgery. Mrs. Mann suffered internal and head injuries in the mishap. The horse was owned by her husband, Clyde Roland Mann, who is a truck driver for the Celanese Trucking Division. Mrs. Mann is a native of Cumberland and was a daughter of Mrs. Anna (Lewis) Kirby, city, and the late George A. Kirby. She was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1950, and was a star basketball player on the school team. Besides her husband and mother she is survived by two daughters, Sharon June and Sue Ann, both at home; two brothers, George A. Kirby, city, and Ronald Lynn Kirby, Baltimore; and a sister, Mrs. John Fees, Wilmington, Ohio. The body will be brought to the Scarpelli Funeral Home where friends will be received tomorrow from 7 to 9 p. m. Rev. Robert Nimon will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Paul Crabtree, Dave Cogan. Walter Zembower, Donald Wilhelm. Clarence Cessna and Cletus Elliott.
