Description	:	Funeral service for Ann Marie Heiser, 46 of Aberdeen, will be 10:30am Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1620 Milwaukee Ave NE, Aberdeen. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Aberdeen, SD, with Pastor Deb Grismer officiating. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW is in charge of arrangements. Ann Marie Heiser passed away peacefully with her husband Dale and son Justin at her side on August 8, 2009 after a twenty month long battle with brain cancer. Ann was born on June 10, 1963 and grew up in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA and attended UCLA and graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO, in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Shortly after graduating, Ann Marie Pitz met her future husband, Dale T. Heiser. The two moved to Ventura, CA where she worked as a Senior Accountant with Carey Accountancy from 1988-1991. After living in California, Ann and Dale moved to Aberdeen. They were married on May 23, 1992 and built their home adjacent to her father's farm, Pitz Farms. Ann shared the same passion around the farm that her father did and thus succeeded him as President of Pitz Farms, Inc., shortly after his death. Ann continued her work in Aberdeen as a Senior Accountant for Levi Engelhart Wolff & Company from 1991-1994, as a Senior Associate for Eide Bailly, LLP from 1994-2001, and as the Chief Financial Officer for Hospitality Services, Inc. from 2001-2007. During this time she was a member of the AICPA, the South Dakota CPA Society and the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce. Looking to spend more time with her son and husband, Ann rejoined Eide Bailly LLP in 2007 as a part time Senior Tax Manager shortly before her illness. Ann had a fondness for horses, country music, and the peacefulness of the country. She loved dogs and cats and was a supporter of the Aberdeen Area Humane Society. She enjoyed walking and bike riding with her husband. Her horse Misty was a favorite of the children she helped with her volunteer work for SPURS. She treasured time with her family the most. Those who knew her well would remember her for her strong work ethic and character, her loyalty, generosity, and intellect. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Ann is survived by her husband Dale T. Heiser, son Justin D. Heiser, mother Mary K. Pitz, sister Betty S. Backous, brother John D. Pitz and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her father Dr. Anthony J. Pitz. Family prefers memorials the American Cancer Society.
