Dunn, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Loes, in East Cascade at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, February 17. She had been ill for several weeks but her death was primarily due to the infirmities of old age, she having reached the ripe old age of 83 years, three months and twenty-eight days. Prior to her recent illness, Mrs. Dunne has been hale and hearty despite her many years. Ann Murray was the daughter of pioneer residents of this section, William and Mary Murray, and was born in Kentucky in 1845. She came here in 1855 with her parents, who settled in Washington township, Jones county. She was married to Edwin W. Dunn in 1865 and continued to live in the vicinity of Garry Owen until 1913 when with her husband she came to Cascade. Mr. Dunn died here in 1918. Mrs. Dunn is survived by four sons, Edward F., of Dubuque; John, of Helena, Mont.; Frank and B.J. of Cascade; and two daughters, Mrs. N. J. Loes, of Cascade; and Mrs. William O’Connell, of Washington township, Jones county. She is also survived by her brother, John J. Murray, and sister, Katherine Murray, of Dubuque. Mrs. Dunn was held in high respect by her neighbors and friends. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic church and passed away fortified by the last rites of her religion. The funeral services for deceased were held Tuesday morning from the Loes residence to St. Martin’s church, where a requiem high Mass was celebrated by Rev. Thomas Rooney. The remains were conveyed to St. Patrick’s cemetery at Garry Owen where Rev. D. P. Mulcahy officiated at the graveside. The pallbearers were P. M. Dahlem, C. J. Devlin, P. J. Conlin, Peter Pedersen, Frank Loes and D. A. English.
