She was victim of diabetes and complications and had been in impaired health nearly two years. For the past six months she was practically helpless. ANNA CIZEK, A LONG TIME RESIDENT IS DEAD Mrs. Anna Cizek died at her home in Clutier at noon Monday. She was victim of diabetes and complications and had been in impaired health nearly two years. For the past six months she was practically helpless. Mrs. Cizek was a native of Bohemia and was born July 26, 1858. She was married to John Cizek in her native land at the age, of 17 the couple coming to America almost immediately. Mr. Cizek had served three years in the Austrian army before his marriage. They settled first at Chelsea. Mr. Cizek being employed by farmers in that locality for a year or two. Then the couple bought the first eighty acres of their homestead in Carroll township which was their home forty years or more. For two years they lived on a farm north of Toledo which they acquired in later years, and seven years ago retired from the farm, locating in Clutier. Mr. Cizek died February 26, 1925. Mrs. Cizek was one of those estimable pioneer women who devoted her life to her family. She was the mother of fourteen worthy children, twelve of whom are living. They are: Mary, wife of J. J. Kopecky; Emma, wife of Louis Kuchynka; Agnes, wife of Emil Nachazel; Anna, wife of Fred Kremenak; Julia, wife of Edward Vochaska: Lizzie, wife of Will Krezek; John, Fred, Frank B., Joe, Charles and Will, all married except the latter and all living in this county. Two sons are dead. Mrs. Cizek’s father died in the old country, and he mother later came to America and died in this county many, years ago. A brother and a sister, both of whom preceded Mrs. Cizek in death, also came to Tama county to live from the old country. The sister married the father of Frank Novotny Sr. of Traer. The funeral was held at Immaculate Conception church at 10 o’ c lock Wednesday morning, in charge of Rev. Thomas Vopatek. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends. Burial was in St. Vaclav cemetery.
