FRANK CIHAL PASSED AWAY Mrs. Frank Cihal, living a few miles from Ulysses, died at her home Wednesday night, March 27, 1935, aged 51 years and 10 months. She leaves her husband, and six children, Mrs. Mary Karpisek, Ulysses; Mrs. Anna Hofpar, Dwight; Christine and Emily at home; Frank of Ulysses and Joe of Dwight. There are two grandchildren and other relatives, also many friends who mourn her going. Deceased's maiden name was Anna Trousil, and when quite young she was married to Mr. Charles [sic] Chloupek. Two children were born to them, one dying in infancy, the husband and father passing away a few years later. She was again married, to Mr. Frank Cihal. Nine children were born to them, six of whom are living. Mrs. Cihal had been in very poor health for a long while, suffering from a complication of asthma, bronchial trouble and enlargement of the heart, but had been fairly well of late. Her death came quite suddenly. Mrs. Cihal was well known in Ulysses and her deeds of kindness and helpfulness during illness and trouble will never be forgotten by those who knew her. Her funeral services were held at the Catholic Church at Dwight on Saturday morning at ten o'clock. The seating capacity of the church was taxed and the floral offerings were many and beautiful. Her pastor, Rev. Father Bauer, officiated. Interment was made in the St. Mary's cemetery near Dwight, when the book of her life was closed. __ Card of Thanks We extend sincere thanks to our many friends and neighbors for their kindness and sympathy during and after our recent bereavement. FRANK CIHAL Mrs. Frank Cihal passed away of heart trouble at her home east of Ulysses on Wednesday, March 27, 1935, after an illness of a year. Anna Trousil was born near Weston, Nebraska on May 13th, 1882, and on May 20, 1902 was united in marriage to John Chloupek. Two children were born to this union, one son dying in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Frank Karpisek. On June 15, 1904, Mr. Chloupek passed away. On August 26, 1907, Mrs. Chloupek was united in marriage to Frank Cihal, and to this union, nine children were born, four of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Cihal was a member of the St. Mary's church of Dwight and was a regular attendant at church until her health became so poorly she could not attend. She was a loving wife and mother and was ever ready to care for the sick in her community. Funeral services were held from St. Mary's church in Dwight on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Father Bauer officiating. Burial was made in the Dwight Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Cihal is survived by her husband and four daughters, Mrs. Frank Karpesiek, Mrs. Anna Hofpar and Christine and Emily at home, two sons, Joe of Dwight and Frank at home, two grandchildren, Tommy Karpesiek and Alvin Hofpar, one brother, John Trousil and six sisters, Mrs. John Soukup, of Dwight, Mrs. August Matulka of Ulysses, Mrs. Joe Matulka of David City, Mrs. Charles Trociba of Dwight, Mrs. Lad Vontola of Dwight, Mrs. Anton Varva of Gresham. Her mother passed away just two years ago Sunday. Pallbearers were her sons, Frank and Joe Cihal, her son in laws, Frank Karpesiek and Joe Hofpar, her brother, John Trousil, her brother-in-law, Albert Cihal. Friends from Valparaiso, Weston, Tobias, Bee, Bruno and Canada were in attendance at her funeral.
