Read More	BIBA, ANNA CATHERINE—Anna Catherine Laun was born on April 11, 1891, to Valcav and Katherine Laun, at the home place east of Milligan and passed away August 10, 1978, at Geneva, having attained the age of 87 years, 3 months and 29 days. Anna was the youngest of four children, Minnie, Robert, and Lou. They were raised on the family farm by their mother after the death of their father at an early age. Anna attended Milligan public school, graduating with the class of 1906, 10th grade being the highest offered. For a number of years after that, Anna taught country school in the Milligan area. She received further education by attending Geneva Normal, Peru State and the School of Agriculture. After that she taught a consolidated school at Red Cloud. On August 10, 1916, she was united in marriage to William A. Biba of near Exeter. Their home the first two years following was near Exeter. In 1918, Will and Anna moved to Geneva and she has been a resident here ever since. To this union was born a daughter, Roma Aileen (Mrs. James Brogan), and a son, James Albert. Anna had many interests. Besides her family, she was an active member of the Geneva Congregational church for close to 60 years where she taught Sunday school and participated in many church activities. She was also active in the order of the Eastern Star, Geneva Mothers club (Charter member), Madre Kensington (Charter member) Past Matron’s club and PEO. Anna also took special pride in her home and loved to work in the yard and garden at 610 North 11th street. Preceding her in death were her husband, W. A.; daughter, Roma; parents, brothers, and sister. She is survived by her son, James; daughter-in-law Ruth; eight grandchildren, David Biba and his wife, Susan, of Geneva; Debra Lambert and her husband, Robert, of Boston; Gary, Gregg and Linda, all of Geneva; Byron Brogan and his wife, Anna, of Sioux city; Charles Brogan of Solon, Ia.; Robert Brogan of Lincoln; and four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Anna was truly a loving wife, devoted mother and friend. We will greatly miss her love, dedication and devotion. Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 1978, with Rev. Marshal Hinds officiating. Mrs. Suzanne Brinkman sang “Hear Thou My Prayer” and “The Lord’s Prayer” accompanied by Mrs. Willard Foster. Pall bears were David Biba, Byron Brogan, Gary Biba, Charles Brogan, Gregg Biba and Robert Brogan. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 17 August 1978
