Description	:	The Tipton Advertiser July 11, 1902 OBITUARY. Anna Catherine Strubbins was born in Brehma Hefen, Germany on May 30th, 1821. She was united in marriage to Albert Leefers in 1845. With her husband and family she moved to America, for a brief time living in the state of New York. They then moved to Prospect Park, Illinois, thence to Red Oak, Cedar county, Iowa and then in 1868 settled in Tipton, continuing her residence here until her death. Anna Catherine Strubbins was born in Brehma Hefen, Germany on May 30th, 1821. She was united in marriage to Albert Leefers in 1845. With her husband and family she moved to America, for a brief time living in the state of New York. They then moved to Prospect Park, Illinois, thence to Red Oak, Cedar county, Iowa and then in 1868 settled in Tipton, continuing her residence here until her death. She was the mother of seven children, five of whom are still living, namely; Albert Leefers, Catherine Longerbeam, Emma Whittern, Anna Bagley and John Leefers. Mr. Leefers having died in 1867, she was again united in marriage with Jacob Davis, their marriage in life continuing until Mr. Davis' death which occurred in 1870. In early life she was confirmed into the German Lutheran church. For many years she has been identified with the English Lutheran church in Tipton. She was much interested in the Ladies' Mite society of that church, having been a charter member. Mr. Davis had been in failing health for about two years. During the last six weeks she had been confined to her bed. The tired spirit waited, longing to be released from the decaying body. She often wished that when she went to sleep she might awake in paradise. Last Friday night she prayed, "Oh Jesus, Jesus, come and take me." Her longings were gratified on Sunday July 6th, when she quietly closed her eyes and laid down the burdens of this life. Some time ago, in anticipation of these services, she selected the text 1 Peter 1:3, from which the funeral address should be made. She had, among the older hymns of the church, several favorites, "Nearer My God to Thee", "Rock of Ages" and There is Rest for the Weary", all of which doubtless breathed out her soul's desire for God and Home. The funeral was held from the home of her son-in-law, W. H. Bagley, in this city, conducted by Rev. Frank P. Shaffer. Interment was made in the Cedar Bluff cemetery.
