Mrs. Carlson recently ran a sliver into one of her fingers. Infection developed in the bloodstream, and the end came suddenly, Friday. Born in Sweden, December 23, 1869, Anna Christiana Johnson came, to America in the fall of 1890, settling at once in Monona County. On October 12, 1891, she was married to Mr. Carlson. The couple engaged in farming. Inheriting the thrift of their stock, they proved industrious folks who gained for themselves a wide circle of friends in Monona County. Mrs. Carlson was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church in Sweden, and was a staunch member of the Castana Community church. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Besides her husband, Mrs. Carlson is survived by seven children. They are Mrs. Freda Roberg, of Pierson; Mrs. Ellen Knoff of Moorhead; Albin, William, Alfred, Edna and Mrs. Florence York all of Castana. Funeral services were held at the Castana Community church Tuesday, with Rev. W.N. Baker in charge. Burial was in Center cemetery.
