Many old friends and neighbors were in attendance. The pall bearers were Edward McNally, Owen McNulty, John O'Brien, J.J. Deneen, John J. Kane and Michael Roach. Mrs. McBride's maiden name was Anna Donnelly. She was born in Ireland in 1845. She came to the United States when a small child. She was married at Boston, Massachusetts, in 1862, to James McBride. Mr. and Mrs. McBride located on a farm in Highland township during the early history of our county. Mr. McBride died fourteen years ago. Soon after, Mrs. McBride and several members of the family moved to this city. Mrs. McBride is survived by four sons-John, who is mayor of Ayshire, Thomas, James and Patrick of this place, and four daughters-Mrs. Geo. Steil, Mrs. Anna Goddard and Miss Julia McBride of this place, and Mrs. Ella Goddard of Manville, Illinois. Mrs. McBride was a humble, industrious, frugal lady and had for many years proved herself one of the most useful and helpful women in the community in which she resided. She was a kind, obliging and devoted friend, a considerate neighbor, an affectionate mother and a most exemplary Christian lady. She was practical and conscientious in the discharge of her spiritual obligations and she died fortified by the comfort of her religion. The sons and daughters, who are now matured men and women, will long cherish fondly the memory of her edifying life and her many ennobling deeds. The profound sympathy of a wide circle of friends is extended to them in their sorrow.
