Description	:	Last Rites Held for Mrs. Herman Seeck Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Seeck, who passed away the previous Tuesday were held at the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Joseph Stopford, Methodist pastor from Norfolk, (at one time pastor here) officiated. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Those attending the final rites included Norfolk Lutheran hospital associates of Miss Elfrieda Seeck, a supervising nurse there and Miss Lotta Oliver, Hastings teacher, friend of Miss Martha Seeck, also a member of the Hastings public school faculty. Anna Dorothea Therese Rieck was born in Allenau, near Friedland, East Prussia, Germany on October 30, 1861. She was the youngest of six children, three of whom later made their home in the United States. She came to Nebraska in 1886 to visit her brother, who lived in Franklin county. On July 15, 1888, she was married to Herman Seeck. They first lived on a homestead 13 miles north of Riverton, later moving to Campbell. In the spring of 1911 the family moved to a farm eight miles southwest of Creighton and early in 1929 to the present home in Creighton. The last few years her health was failing and shortly before Christmas she suffered a stroke that resulted in partial paralysis. At dawn, January 18, 1938, she passed away. She is survived by her husband and eight children, Elfrieda, Norfolk, Martha of Hastings, Margaret, a missionary in China, Victor of Trona, California, George of Athens, Ala., Mrs. Gust Peterson of Laurel, Albert, a law student at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and Irma, who has been at home since last summer. She was a devoted wife and mother whose interests centered wholly in the home and welfare of her family. Her devotion will ever remain a precious memory to her family.
