The services were held at St. Ansgars Lutheran church at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. John Schultz officated at the church and at the cemetery. Rev. T. W. Anna Dorthea Mikkelson was born in Kolding, Denmark September 4, 1862 and passed away at the Genoa hospital June 24, 1945, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 20 days. She came direct from Denmark to Columbus, Nebr., on July 4 1883, and settled in the Looking Glass community. On December 12, 1883, she was united in marriage to John Christensen of that community where they lived on a farm until they moved to Genoa in 1910 where she has since made her home. Mrs. Christensen was a member of the Bethany Lutheran church. She was a kind and thoughtful mother. To this union five sons and five daughters were born. Her husband and five children precded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure five children: Mrs. A. W. Swanson of Central City, Nebr,: Mrs. Nettie Westbrook of Turlock, Calif.: Mrs. F. H. Cuddeford, Joe and Clarence of Genoa, Nebr.: 36 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Newman Grove Reporter, 3 July 1945
