McMahon, daughter of Jasper and Elizabeth (Pinneo) Hall was born Feb. 13, 1902, on a farm near Grafton. She died Oct. 27, 1994, at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont, at the age of 92 years, 8 months and 14 days. The family moved to Minnesota for a short time and returned to Nebraska in 1914, after the death of Anna's father. She attended school through the sixth grade. Most of her life was spent in the Fairmont area except for 17 years when she worked as a PBX operator for the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln. In 1967, she returned to her home in Fairmont. She enjoyed spending the summer hours in her flower gardens and the winter months making quilts and doing needlework. Anna was married to Francis E. Baker of McCool Junction on July 26, 1922, and to them four children were born. On Nov. 19, 1969, she married Francis McMahon Sr. She was a member of the Methodist Church; a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star; a 49-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and also was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Royal Neighbors of America. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Francis E. Baker and Francis McMahon; son, Francis B. Baker; grandsons, Thomas E. Baker, Marc A. Cox and James M. Cox; sisters, Alice Lang, Leah Gibbons, Hilda Lutz and Agnes Stoker; and brother, Raymond Hall. She is survived by daughters, Jean Baker of Lincoln, Leone (George) Cox of Gothenburg, Esther (Holly) Jewell of Lincoln; sister, Mildred Moul of Grant; brother, Emmett Hall of Box Elder, S.D.; stepson, Francis McMahon of Kansas; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, with the Rev. Charles Leypoldt officiating. Casket bearers were Mike Adams, Joe Galaway, Lewis Badger Halsey, Skip Radke, Gerald Schreiner and Jack Slocum Jr. Interment was in the Fairmont Public Cemetery.
