Description	:	Francis Eugene Baker, son of Francis and Hattie Jane Baker, was born Sept. 16, 1886, at McCool, Nebraska. He spent his entire life in this vicinity. In October of 1917, he entered military service and served with the armed forces overseas for nearly a year. After being discharged, he established his residence in Fairmont. Read More	Francis Eugene Baker, son of Francis and Hattie Jane Baker, was born Sept. 16, 1886, at McCool, Nebraska. He spent his entire life in this vicinity. In October of 1917, he entered military service and served with the armed forces overseas for nearly a year. After being discharged, he established his residence in Fairmont. He was a member of the Fairmont Lodge No. 48, A.F.&A.M., and the Order of the Eastern Star. On July 26, 1922 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna E. Hall of Fairmont. To this union were born six children, two dying in infancy. He had been in failing health the past 15 years, and departed this life February 13, 1944, at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 28 days. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, one son, Pvt. Francis B. Baker; stationed at College Park, Md., three daughters Laura Jean, Leone and Esther Marie; four sisters, Mrs. Ina Baker and Mrs. Vera Horton of North Platte, Mrs. Mable Moyer of Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. Elsie Walters of Hollister, Calif; three brothers, Elmer of Lexington, Ellis of North Platte, and Charles of Fairmont; other relatives and many friends. He was a faithful husband, and a devoted father who will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held at the Fairmont Methodist Church at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 16. Rev. R.W. Sandsted of Hebron officiating. Oliver Moul sang with Mrs. A.A. Ashby as organist. Masonic members attended in a body. Interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery, where the Masonic burial service was rendered. Pallbearers were Sidney Atwood, L.H. Real, Clinton Halsey, Robert Palmer, E.M. Rose and Harry Perkins.
