Dory, Eliza shares a stone with her son, Raymond Adair County Democrat October 24, 1895 Mrs. Fremont Dory, aged 40 years, died in Fontanelle on Monday afternoon about 5 o'clock. Drs. McDermid, Howe and Keith performed an operation on her in the forenoon for an ovarian tumor, which was successfully done, but on account of her debilitated condition she was unable to recover from the shock. It was not secured without great difficulty, as it had grown fast in many places to the lower bowels, which made it very tedious and difficult for the doctors. She recovered from the effects of the anesthetic, but did not have sufficient constitution to recover from the shock of the operation and gradually sank until she died about 5 o'clock. The doctors have been very successful in this line of operations, but attempted this one with misgivings, which could not be bettered with the lapse of time, which threatened the life of the patient at any time.
