Her parents were married on 9 Aug 1850 in Clinton, Indiana. Anna was the oldest of five or six other siblings: William K (1858-1946), William Jacob born 1859 (may be the same as preceding), Milton Charles (1861-1930), Curtiss Albert (1865-1941), Rosie or Rosa born 1867 and Ira or Irrie Sutton (1868-1957). In 1863, when Anna was 7, it was said of her mother Sarah, "During the dark days of the Civil War Mrs. Payne cared for the home and her three small children while her husband followed the flag and defended the country. All such truly deserve military honors." The family moved from Indiana to Lincoln, Nebraska that same year. In 1870, at age 14, Anna lived with her family in Lancaster, Nebraska. In 1876, at age 20, Anna married Albert Danforth More in Lincoln, Johnson County, Nebraska. They had six children: Frank John (1878-1954), Nellie S (1881-1933), Robert Ferguson (1883-1971), Albert Curtis (1884-1911), Mabel "Billie" (1889-1967) and Eugene Harlow (1894-1954). In 1880, at age 23, Anna and Albert lived on a farm in Elk, Lancaster County, Nebraska. In 1883, at age 27, they moved to Kingman, Kingman County, Kansas where she remained the rest of her life. In 1895, at age 39, she was listed as a homemaker and Albert was a farmer while living in Kingman. In 1899, at age 42, she was confirmed at the Christ Episcopal Church in Kingman by the Right Reverend Millspring, Bishop, and Reverend Swann. In 1900, at age 43, they lived in District 113 in Kingman, her brother Frank was a lumberman and her uncle John More, age 76 born in New York and whose father was from Scotland. In 1908, at age 52, her mother died. She died a year later on 28 Mar 1909 at the age of 53 and is buried at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Kingman and is listed in the burial records at Christ Church where she had been a member.
