TOBIASON Mrs. Michael Tobiasen died at her home in Wayne township, last Monday afternoon August 2nd, of lockjaw. She had the misfortune to step on a nail, which penetrated her foot, on the 26th of July. The wound was given home attention, and was not regarded as serious until she was obliged to take to her bed, the Sunday following her injury. A physician was summoned and he at once observed that she was a victim of lockjaw, and that her condition was extremely serious. Serums used in such cases were hastily procured and administered, but the disease had progressed to such an extent that all remedies were powerless to stay the disease, which in a short while caused her death. She remained conscious until the end, and was prepared In a Christian way to meet death. The funeral services were held this forenoon, at the home, followed by those at the church. Rev. Wlllms officiating. Interment was made at the Lutheran cemetery of the Lutheran Zlon's church at Wayne, of which she was a member. The decedent, whose maiden name was Anna Engellne Rlckels, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerd RIckels, well known residents of Wayne township. She was born April 17, 1888, and, consequently was 32 years, 3 months and I6 days old at the time of her death. She was baptized May 23, 1888, and was confirmed In the Lutheran church at Wayne, April 5, 1893. She was married October 13, 1913, to Michael Tobiasen, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Tobiasen. This union resulted in the birth of two sons, of which the eldest, Vernon Georg, died at the age of 2 years. She Is survived by her husband and one son, Melvin Gerhard, who was 2 years of age on the day of his mother's death. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerd Rickels survive, also three brothers: Gerhard, John and William Rickels; four sisters: Mary Hayen, Katharina Folkers; Mattie Poppe and Elizbeth Ambuehl all residing In Wayne township. Mrs. Tobiasen was a popular young woman, and her unexpected death brought sorrow into a great many homes of Wayne township. The husband has the profound sympathy of all his acquaintances. NOTE: On her husband's gravestone the last name is spelled Tobiason
