When she was about two years old she came to America with her parents who settled in Chicago. After residing there for about 15 years, the family moved to a farm in Grundy county. On March 14. 1883 she was married to Henry Corrington of Tama county. They lived on a farm in Grundy county until the Spring of 1889 when they moved to a farm in Cherokee county. They retired from the farm in 1918, moving to a home in Cherokee, where Mrs. Corrington lived until her death. Mr Corrington died Oct 21, 1928. They were the parents of nine children William of Cherokee, Ella at home, Mrs. Lee Pennington of Peterson, Thomas of Cherokee, Mrs. Howard Haight of Aurelia, Mrs. Gertrude Martin of Los Angeles, Mrs. George Booth of Peterson, Arthur and Henry of Los Angeles. She is also survived by H. R. Frei of Reinbeck, Ia., 30 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She had her membership in the Good Hope Methodist church later transferring to the Cherokee Methodist church, where she was a devoted and loyal member. Her well worn Bible reveals the source of her strength and the nature of the hope which sustained her through days of increasing physical distress. She passed to her reward peacefully December 14. She will be missed by a large circle of friends and relatives, but more especially by her daughter, Ella, who was her constant companion and attendant in strength and in weakness.
