Anna Graves Martin was born at St. Thomas, Canada, January 15, 1834 and departed this life March 15, 1917, age 83 years and 3 months. In 1859 she emigrated from Canada to Beatrice, Neb. with her parents, was married to Joseph Martin October 18, 1860. To this union ten children were born, six girls and four boys. Anna Graves Martin was born at St. Thomas, Canada, January 15, 1834 and departed this life March 15, 1917, age 83 years and 3 months. In 1859 she emigrated from Canada to Beatrice, Neb. with her parents, was married to Joseph Martin October 18, 1860. To this union ten children were born, six girls and four boys. Her aged husband, four girls and four boys still survive her. At the age of 15 she was converted and was baptised and joined the Baptist church of which she was still a member. She moved to Republic county (sic), Kansas with her family in December, 1889 where she has since resided. Her suffering was great in her last sickness but she said she was ready and willing to go. Her last request was that her children and grandchildren meet her in heaven. She said what a glorious rejoicing it will be when we all get there. Her children were all with her in her last sickness except one boy who lives in Canada, and her special message to him was to meet her in heaven. She was a kind wife and a loving mother and a happy home circle has been broken. Dearest mother, thou hast left us, And thy loss we deeply feel, But It's God who has bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal. The funeral was held at the Rose Creek Chaple (sic) and the remains were intered (sic) in the Chester Cemetery. The funeral was conducted by the pastor of the Rose Creek Chaple (sic) U. B. church (sic) Rev. U. G. Travis. The pastor preached a very effective sermon from the Word of God found in Hebrew 9:27, St. John 11:25, St. John 14-18. The neighbors and friends extend to the children and aged husband of the deceased their heartfelt sympathy.
