June 12, 1970 - Carroll Daily Times - Requiem mass for Mrs. Henry (Anna) Millenacker, 96, of 121 North Adams Street, Carroll, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Spirit Church by the Very Rev. Leo Lenz, V.F. Friends may call at the Twit Funeral Home starting at 8 p.m. Friday, at which time the rosary will be recited. Rosaries also are scheduled for 3 and 8 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Mrs. Millenacker died at her home at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11, after being in ill health for 3 1/2 years. She was born Feb. 20, 1874, at Verl, Germany, a daughter of Henry and Margaret Huelshorst. In 1888 she came to the United States with her family, settling at Arcadia. Her marriage to Henry J. Millenacker took place in St. John's Church, Arcadia, on July 26, 1904. The couple lived first on a family farm north of Carroll for two years and then moved to Saskatchewan, Canada, where they resided for 15 years and became Canadian citizens. Returning to the United States and becoming naturalized citizens of this country, they purchased an 80-acre farm south of Carroll, 40 of which is now Rolling Hills Addition to Carroll. Mr. Millenacker, who is now deceased, built the present family home on North Adams Street about 1932. Mrs. Millenacker was active in church and neighborhood affairs until recent years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church and before that of the SS. Peter and Paul Church and its Rosary and Altar Society. She also had belonged to a Mission Sewing Circle in earlier years and the Legion of Mary. At the time her 90th birthday was celebrated she still was active in her church, and enjoyed growing and canning food, fishing, and her hobby of raising African violets. Mrs. Millenacker suffered a broken hip on Sept. 30, 1966, and since then has been cared for in her home by a daughter, Laura Millenacker, who lived with her, and other members of her family. Surviving are five children, Mrs. J. Lawrence (Loretta) Cochran, Mrs. Bruce (Clara) Meiser and Mary Millenacker, all of San Diego, Calif.; Laura and Walter Millenacker, Carroll; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Gertrude) Schroeder, Carroll, and Sr. M. Theodosia of Dubuque; and a brother, Conrad Huelshorst, Arcadia. Preceding Mrs. Millenacker in death besides her husband were a son, Leo; a daughter Hilda; and the following brothers and sisters: Bro. Vital Huelshorst, OFM; the Rev. Christopher Huelshorst, Mrs. Joe (Kate) Bueltel, Mrs. Adolf (Mary) Kampwirth; Jake and Edward Huelshorst.
