Read More	Mrs. Anna Baer, 67, Ness City, deputy County treasurer, former County treasurer, and GOP nominee for that office at the August primary, was found dead in her home here late Monday afternoon by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Milton Baer, who had come in from the Baer farm northeast of town to visit. Death from a heart attack was estimated to have occurred about noon on Sunday. Mrs. Baer had arisen, made her bed, and had started early preparations for the noon meal; that all apparently on Sunday morning. Indications were that the fatal attack happened well before Mrs. Baer had gotten into late pre-meal preparations Sunday. She was the widow of the late Roy H. Baer, with whom she was united in marriage in June of 1911. Mrs. Baer had made her home here for many years. She was first elected County treasurer in 1948, serving two terms, following which she continued in the office as deputy treasurer for the past four years, and was a candidate for the office in the November election at the time of her death. Survivors include: The son, Milton Baer of Ness City; five daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Bailey of Plainville, Mrs. Lois Trigg of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Dorothy Hobson of Altadena, Calif., Mrs. Willa Jones of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mrs. Betty Rice of Topeka; nine grandchildren, one brother and one sister, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, here Wednesday afternoon, September 5, 1956, 3:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. A.E. Greenler, pastor of the Methodist Church. Interment was in the Ransom cemetery. Ness Co. News, Sept. 6, 1956 Mrs. Anna Baer, daughter of Chris and Marie Larsen Jensen, was born in Osage County, Kansas, April 9, 1889, and died at her home in Ness City, Kansas, on September 2, 1956; age 67 years. She was married June 14, 1911, to Roy H. Baer at Lyndon, Kansas. They came to Ness City at that time to make their home. To this union were born: Lois Trigg of Dallas, Texas; Milton Baer of Ness City; Marjorie Bailey of Plainville; Dorothy Hobson of Altadena, Calif.; Willa Jones of Bakersfield, Calif.; and Betty Rice of Topeka. Mr. Baer preceded her in death October 16, 1921. She was a loving mother and kept the home together through all the years after her husband’s death. She was a member of the Methodist Church, a member of Eastern Star, Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, a member of B.P.W. For the past 10 years she has been in the County treasurer’s office as country treasurer or deputy treasurer. She is survived by all her children; five sons-in-law; L.B. Trigg, B.C. Bailey, James Hobson, Charles Jones, W.K. Rice; one daughter-in-law, Mildred Baer; nine grandchildren; Stephanie Baer, Jeffrey and Craig Bailey, James, Michael and Charles Hobson, Stephen, Karen, and Jacqueline Jones; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Cluff of Topeka; one brother, Roy Jensen of Topeka; an uncle, Hans Jensen and his wife of Lyndon; two sisters-in-law, Daisy Baer of Ransom and Anna Jensen of Lakeland, Minn.; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City Wednesday, September 5, conducted by Rev. A.E. Greenler. Interment was in the Ransom cemetery.
