Adolph Lillich officiating. Mrs. Benedict passed away Thursday morning at the age of 70 years. Death was due to a heart attack suffered earlier in the day. Interment was made in the Greenwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Thompson, Jim Thompson, Walter Fuchtman, William Fuchtman, William Sebade and Joe Grothe. Anna Katherine Adeleid Anders was born to Wilhelm Anders and Catherine Schmeckpepper on May 19, 1878 at Tinley Park, Cook county, Ill. In June the same year she received Christian baptism in the Lutheran church at Tinley Park. In 1884 she came with her parents to Creighton, where she made her home until the time of her death. After receiving Christian Confirmation, she was made a communicant member of the Zion Lutheran church of Creighton under the pastorate of Rev. Strauss. On May 1, 1900 she was united in marriage to Guy Benedict at Creighton. To this union were born four children. A son, Willis Guy, preceded her in death, when he was electrocuted while working on the high line near McLean on June 12, 1925. Mr. and Mrs. Benedict lived in town except for the eight years spent on their farm east of town. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and was president of the Ladies Aid Society during the pastorate of Rev. Kaiser. Mrs. Benedict enjoyed good health until Oct. 27, 1947, when she suffered a stroke, which left her helpless for a few months. Shortly before her death, she was able to do her own housework and had nearly recovered from the stroke. She leaves to mourn her passing besides her husband, three children; Mrs. Marvin (Edith) Elwood of Winnetoon; Mrs. Floyd (Mildred) Carlsen and Mrs. Richard (Eldora) Mounts of Omaha; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Petersen of Creighton, Mrs. Margaret Ball of Lost Springs, Wyo. and Mrs. Harry Watt of Norfolk; two brothers, William Anders of Norfolk and John Anders of Orland Park, Ill.
