'''''''' The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), August 11, 1955, p. 1, col. 3 & p. 8, col. 2 Mrs. Anna Moran, 87, Dies Friday; Services Are Held Monday Mrs. Anna Katherine Moran, 87, resident of David City since 1906, died here Friday afternoon following a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. John Prachar officiating at the requiem mass. Music was by the St. Mary's Junior Choir. Serving as pallbearers were John Moran, Jr., and Robert Moran grandsons; Dennis Korinek, John Kreigier and John Lonndquist, grandsons-in-law; and William Gilmore, a friend. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. Mrs. Moran was born May 6, 1868, at Monmouth, Ill., and she married Wm. A. Moran in May 1885, at Alexis, Ill. Prior to coming to David City in 1906, they lived at Raymond. Mrs. Moran was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Members of the latter organization attended the funeral in a body. She is survived by six children, Mary Hanson of Lincoln, Julia Mackay and Cletas Green of Omaha, Marguerite Palmer of Houston, Texas, Thomas Moran of Broken Bow, and John Moran of David City; and one brother, Thomas Barrett of David City. Preceding her in death were her husband, three daughters, Teresa and Elizabeth and Dorothy Schlentz. Those who came from a distance to attend the funeral were Thomas Moran of Broken Bow; Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. John Lonnquist and children, Mrs. C. Walter, Mrs. Mary Barrett, Mrs. I. Neal, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mortinson of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Palmer of Houston, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moran of Hemingford; Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Green, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Green, Mrs. Julia Mackay, Mr. and Mrs. John Kreigler, Mrs. Harry Green, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Siegl, Mr. and Mrs. George Denham, Mrs. R. J. Tomacek, and Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Follmer of Omaha; Paul and John Martin of Wahoo; and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cunningham and daughters of Zenda, Kansas.
