Description	:	Anna was born on the Langeland farm near Evanger Norway, the daughter of Knud Johanneson Langeland and Sigrid Sjursdatter. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1850. There is a passenger listed on the brig Hans Holmboe voyage of 1850 named Anna Knudsdatter, age 24. The ship left Bergen on May 15 and arrived in New York on July 5, 1850. She traveled to Koshkonong Prairie, Christiana Township, Dane County Wisconsin. Here she met Hendrik Hendrickson and they were married in 1851 by Rev. Preuss at the West Koshkonong Lutheran Church. She was his second wife and became step-mother to his two sons Ole and Hendrick. Anna & Hendrick's first son Knud was born in 1852 in Koshkonong. In 1853 the family of five moved to Pleasant Township in Winnesheik County Iowa, where the next six children were born (Jacob, Nils, John, Kari, Ole (Little Ole) and Sigri (Sarah). Anna died in 1872, just six years after her last child was born. Her son John was mentioned only once in a census and may have died as a child. His burial is not found. NOTE ABOUT SURNAMES: Anna used both Knudsdatter and Langeland as her surname and her husband used Hendrickson Fadnes. In Iowa, they used Hendrikson as their surname. However some of their children reverted to the Fadnes or Fadness surname.
