(The Moline [KS] Advance, 10 Apr 1947) Mrs. Philip Walker died Easter Sunday, April 8, 1947, at St. Mary's Hospital, Winfield, Kansas at 11:55 p.m. Mrs. Walker's death marked the passing of the last one of her immediate family. The funeral services were held in the Catholic Church, Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. with the Rev. J. J. Dreher, pastor, offering the Requiem Mass. Anna Leathe O'Daniel, the daughter of Harrison B. and Christina Hamilton O'Daniel, was born near Shelbina, Missouri on August 9, 1861. She was united in marriage to Philip Walker, Feb. 19, 1884, at St. Mary's Church, Shelbina, Mo., and left for Kansas a few days later. Her husband came to Elk Co., Kans., from Marion County, Ky. in Sept. 1882. To this union was born eight children, three of whom preceded her in death and Mr. Walker passed away, May 7, 1930. The survivors include four sons and one daughter: Joe and Anna of the home, Damain on the old farm home; James H. and Paul of Kans. City; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. Aunt Hester as she was called was a loving and devoted mother and a friend to all who knew her. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. James H. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth C. Dennis of Kansas City, Kansas; Paul Walker, Mrs. Margaret Domsch [Dornsch?] and Mrs. Joe Dalton of Kansas City, Mo.; Jimmie Walker, Mrs. E. R. Walker, Mrs. Margaret Bellman, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Newman of Wichita, Kans., and Mamie Walker of Topeka, Ks. (The Moline [KS] Advance, 17 Apr 1947)
