Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Greeley. Mrs. Katzer died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Anderson County Long Term Care. She was born June 22, 1913, in Anderson County, the daughter of Henry and Theresa (Zormeier) Egidy. She moved to Garnett in 1993 from rural Greeley. A homemaker, Mrs. Katzer was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Greeley, Holy Angels Catholic Church, Garnett, and St. John's Altar Society. She married Tony Katzer on April 25, 1933, in Greeley. He died Feb. 14, 1982. Survivors include eight sons, Maurice Katzer, Centerville, Virgil and Bernard Katzer, both of Garnett, Mark, Fredrick and Gregory Katzer, all of Greeley, Jerome Katzer, Oak Grove, Missouri, and Michael Katzer, Lawrence; four daughters, Anthonette Wolken, Marlene Hermreck and Kathleen Wittman, all of Garnett, and Theresa Morgan, Lawrence; a brother, Matt Egidy, Paola; three sisters, Josephine Katzer, Greeley, Agnes Bowman, Wichita, and Margaret Kipper, Overland Park; 40 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. A son, Ralph Katzer, and a grandchild died earlier. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church, Greeley, where friends may call after the rosary. The family suggests memorials to Holy Angels School or St. John's School, sent in care of Farris-Feuerborn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 408, Garnett 66032.
