The church service was preceded by a short family service at the Huffman Funeral Home, Burial was in the Carroll Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clifford Eischeid of Carroll, a former neighbor; Clifford Onken, Julian Jullch, John Wiederin, Paul Lenz, and Robert, Onken, all neighbors of the Kurth family. The Rev. L.S. Winters of Auburn officiated at the funeral and graveside services, Music for the church service was furnished by the Immanue1 Lutheran choir led by A.L. Daenzer, They sang "Asleep in Jesus," and "I'm But a Stranger Here, Heaven is My Home." Among relatives here from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Klemann of Frankfort, IL. and Mrs, Arthur Hieland of Joliet IL. Many relatives and friends from nearby attended the services. Mrs. Kurth was the former Anna Louise Boje, born in Sheridan township September 28, 1888. She is survived by her husband; two children, William Kurth Jr. of Glidden and Bernice Kurth, who lives at home; four grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Louis Kurth of Carroll and Mrs. William Kurth Jr, of Glidden; and one brother, Albert Boje of Glidden.
