Description	:	Funeral services were held Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church of Tolley for Mrs. Anna Krenz, 83, longtime area resident, who passed away June 3. Rev. Mark Kloha officiated at the service. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Buchholtz and Todd Haugen were vocalists and Mrs. Julius Carstens, organist. Interment was made in McKinney Cemetery, rural Tolley. Pallbearers were six grandchildren, Mark, Courtney and Bradley Krenz, John and James Vanvig and Miriam Gates. Anna Butt was born Sept. 16, 1897, at Wheaton, Minn., where she was reared. She attended normal school at Wheaton for a year, and taught one year each in Nevada, Oregon and Minnesota. She married Reinhart P. Krenz, June 17, 1923, at Wheaton. They came to farm in Grover Township, Renville County, near Sherwood, in 1929. From 1934 to 1937, they lived in Mohall, returning to the farm near Sherwood in 1937. Following her husband’s death, Jan. 29, 1957, Mrs. Krenz worked as a fraternity housemother at colleges in Bozeman and Missoula, Mont., Fargo and Minot. During that time she spent summers at Mouse River Park, rural Tolley. In the 1960s she worked as a receptionist at the State Capitol in Bismarck during the legislative sessions. Since the late 1960s she had lived in Mohall. She was a member of Trinity Church and of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was active in the state and county Republican Party, and was a member of the Mohall American Legion Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Mohall Women’s Club and was a member of the McKinney Cemetery Association. She was a member and active supporter of Citizens United to Save the Valley based in Mohall. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Virginia) Gates, Mohall; sons, Paul, of Sherwood, and Darwin, Williston; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emma Paul, Sauk Centre, Minn., and a brother, Henry Butt, California. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie in July 1965. From the scrapbook of Lillian Lundgren Zeltinger who passed away in 1997.
