Nelson, Oak, Neb., and Anna Burkett, Oak, Neb. ===================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, October 18, 1984; pg. 3 Ann Mae Kramer, one of 10 children born to Henry Burkett and Margaret Hatfield Burkett, was born in Longhollow (sic), Virginia, on August 24, 1902. She was educated in the Oak School, Oak, Nebraska. Ann had spent most of her life in Nebraska, living in the Oak, Ruskin, Fairbury and Nelson communities. She and her husband, Gene Kramer, were making their home in the Elk Creek Manor at the time of her death. She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include her husband Gene of the home; one daughter, Dolores Flower and her husband Duane, of Ogallala, Nebraska; 4 sisters, Viola Thurber and Emma Merrill, both of Hastings, Nebraska, Mary Whartmen (sic) of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Virginia Follmer of Greenvier (sic), Wyoming; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ann passed away October 10, 1984, in her home at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 16 days. Graveside services were held from the Nelson Cemetery, Friday, October 12, 1984, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Paul Samuelson officiating. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements.
