She was born Nov. 14, 1941, in Allentown, Pa., the daughter of the late Michael J. Zanko and Victoria (Whitby) Zanko. She married the love of her life Walter Hodgkinson on Nov. 12, 1960. Hodgkinson Sunday, December 14, 2014 ASHTABULA — Anna Mae “Anne” Hodgkinson, age 73, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born Nov. 14, 1941, in Allentown, Pa., the daughter of the late Michael J. Zanko and Victoria (Whitby) Zanko. She married the love of her life Walter Hodgkinson on Nov. 12, 1960. Anna worked for many years at the Squire Shoppe in the Ashtabula Harbor. Anna had a passion for cooking. She loved reading and looking at recipes, but she truly enjoyed bringing those recipes to life. Her passion for cooking led many people to her table to enjoy the many creations she made. There was nothing that Anna loved more than her family. She loved her children and was very active in their schooling and education. She took great pride in volunteering in any aspect she could when it came to her children; she was a Cub Scout Leader and very active in the PTO at Washington Elementary and always helped out as a homeroom parent. She enjoyed all of her animals as well as the outside birds and squirrels who always knew where to come for food. Most of all Anna enjoyed anytime she got to spend with her family and friends. Anna will deeply be missed by all who knew her. Her survivors include three children, Edward J. (Rhonda Holmes) Hodgkinson of Bellevue, Brenda A. Hall of Ashtabula, and John D. (Debbie) Hodgkinson of Ashtabula; sister, Catherine Parnell of Warren, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Robert, Collin, Dylan, Brittany, Kristal, David, Brian, and Alex; four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Troy, Jericho, and Alexis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Walter Hodgkinson on March 25, 2014; son-in-law, Terry Hall; her parents; and step-father, Carl Olson. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with Pastor Kenneth Roberts, of Pentecostal Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville. Calling Hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16th, at the Funeral Home. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
