Joseph and beloved wife of Mr. William Meyer, was born at Hordville, Nebraska on September 14, 1908. She was baptized in early infancy and was later instructed in the Christian doctrine and confirmed, becoming a communicant member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Polk, Nebraska, where she remained a faithful member until her death. Joseph and beloved wife of Mr. William Meyer, was born at Hordville, Nebraska on September 14, 1908. She was baptized in early infancy and was later instructed in the Christian doctrine and confirmed, becoming a communicant member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Polk, Nebraska, where she remained a faithful member until her death. On September 14, 1933, she was joined in marriage to Mr. William Meyer. This union was blessed with four children, three of whom are living, Leora, Wilma and Louise. Approximately two years ago, Mrs. Meyer began to note symptoms of the sickness which on September 23, 1951, was the cause of her passing. For many long months she was confined to her bed and was unable to assist herself in any way. She endured much suffering, but, in the strength which the merciful Father provided through His Word and Sacrement, she bore her affliction and suffering with patience and by the grace of God, committed herself, body and soul, into the hands of the loving and mighty Saviour. She looked steadfastly unto Jesus for salvation frequently expressing the desire that the Lord would graciously remove her from this vale of tears and take her unto Himself in heaven. She had her request granted on the evening of September 23, 1951, when the Lord took her, after she had attained the age of 43 years and 9 days. She was preceded in death by one daughter and her aged mother. She leaves to mourn her departure, her aged father, Mr. L.T. Joseph of Aurora, Nebraska, a devoted husband, Mr. William Meyer, three daughters, Leora, Wilma and Louise, all of the home; two step children, Mr. Laverne Meyer of Otis, Oregon, and Mrs. Clarence Walbrecht of York, Nebraska; three brothers, Mr. Albert Joseph of Hampton, Mr. Ernest Joseph of Aurora, and Mr. Walter Joseph of Columbus; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Schwickert of Central City, Mrs. Ida Sagehorn of Seward, Mrs. Viola Wergin of Loveland, Colorado, and Miss Malinda Joseph of Aurora, and by a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, at 1:15 at the Wall Funeral Home in Hampton and at 2 o;clock at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Polk. Rev. C.W. Long officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
