Freese was born October 13, 1853 at Bergenhusen, Germany and passed away at Randalia, Iowa at the home of her son, Carl, January 19, 1933 at one o'clock in the afternoon. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the age of fourteen. She was united in marriage to Jacob Jacobsen December 19, 1875. her husband preceded her in death July 28, 1912. Freese was born October 13, 1853 at Bergenhusen, Germany and passed away at Randalia, Iowa at the home of her son, Carl, January 19, 1933 at one o'clock in the afternoon. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the age of fourteen. She was united in marriage to Jacob Jacobsen December 19, 1875. her husband preceded her in death July 28, 1912. To this union born eight children of which four are living. The four living are Peter, Carl and Jobina of Randalia and Gustav of Owatonna, Minnesota. In 1904 she, with her husband and children came to America and settled near Hale, Iowa, where they engaged in farming. After her husband died she made her home with her son Carl and her daughter Jobina. They came to Fayette county in 1918 and settled near Maynard. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church at Maynard. She leaves to mourn her passing, her four children, Peter, Carl and Jobina of Randalia and Gustav of Owatonna, Minnesota: two sisters, Mrs. Henry Lesch and Mrs. Hans Knutzer both of Wyoming, Iowa; one foster brother, G. Grabbe of Olin, Iowa; nineteen grandchildren and one great-grand child. She reached the age of seventy-nine years, three months and six days. Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday morning, January 23 at nine o'clock and at the Lutheran church in Maynard at ten o'clock. Interment was made in the cemetery beside her husband at Wyoming, Iowa. Pall bearers were Siegfried Jacobsen, Raymond Jacobsen, Arthur Jacobsen, Melvin Jacobsen, Herman Cornilsen, and Andrew Cornilsen. The first four were grandsons of the deceased. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Miss Margaret Hafferman, Mrs. Walter Ruecket, Gerald Warnke and Lester Schmitt, with Mrs. Henry Buenneke, jr. at the organ. Mrs. A.G. Schlegel sang a solo. ------ Jacob and Anna with their children lived in Lech, Germany before coming to America. Jacob and Anna with their two children Carl and Jobena boarded the ship "Graf Molkte" and sailed to America. They arrived in New York, New York on March 27, 1904. The family traveled to Iowa to be with their son Peter who immigrated in 1900 to America. Their son Thomas also came to America, but later went back to serve in the German Army in WWI. He was killed in action. Jacob and Anna's other son Gustav and his wife Lucy and family came to America in 1909 to join them. Anna passed away from dilation of the heart. She is buried next to her husband and granddaughter. Anna's grandson Gustav Charles Jacobsen put their headstone at the cemetery.
