Description	:	Ann Mariah Knode was born in Washington County, Maryland, May 11, 1815 and departed this life Sep 14, 1899, aged 84 years, 4 months and 3 days. She was married to David Brown, Jan 15, 1837. They emigrated to Indiana in Nov. 1850, and settled on A B Knode's farm, near Hagerstown for seven years, when they purchased the farm one and one-half miles north of Hagerstown, where they lived till the death of each. There was born to this union 10 children, four of whom yet survive, two sons reside in Missouri and two daughters reside... Read More	Ann Mariah Knode was born in Washington County, Maryland, May 11, 1815 and departed this life Sep 14, 1899, aged 84 years, 4 months and 3 days. She was married to David Brown, Jan 15, 1837. They emigrated to Indiana in Nov. 1850, and settled on A B Knode's farm, near Hagerstown for seven years, when they purchased the farm one and one-half miles north of Hagerstown, where they lived till the death of each. There was born to this union 10 children, four of whom yet survive, two sons reside in Missouri and two daughters reside here. She was of a family of 11 children, only one of whom yet survive. Mr & Mrs Brown united with the German Baptist Church about 50 years ago and lived faithful and exemplary members until the time of death. On the 17th of last May, Mrs Brown made a visit to Maryland, the home of her childhood, to visit relatives and friends and returned about the 17th of June, and remained at home awhile, when she, with her two daughters went to the state of Missouri to visit her sons at Clinton, where she took sick. After a short illness of cholera morbus which she had about a week she passed over the river of death, at the home of her son, T T Brown. She leaves two sons and two daughters, eight grandchildren and a large number of friends to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at the Brick Church on Sunday afternoon with Elder Abram Bowman officiating. Mrs Brown was a woman much respected by her neighbors and lived a life of usefulness. She was charitable to the faults of others, was ready to commend every good act and bestowed deeds of kindness whenever an opportunity offered.
