She was born Nov. 2, 1912 at West Point to Herman and Sophia Sommers Bohnenkamp. She married Mark W. Mason on Aug. 30, 1932 at Fort Madison. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2005. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She liked to sew and cook. She is survived by two sons, Robert (wife Doris) Mason of Kissimmee, Fla. and Frank (wife Trish) Mason of Fort Madison; five daughters, Floradeen (husband John) Schier, Fort Madison, Norma Jean (husband Clarence) Muerhoff of Grand Blanc, Mich., Marcella (husband Jerry) Honadel, Fort Madison, Mary Ann (husband Gene) Mueller of Aurora, Colo., and Betty Albers, Fort Madison; 26 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters, one son, James, and one grandson. Friends may call after 2 p.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison, on Friday, Feb. 16, 2007. The family will meet with friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. and another recited at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Thomas Parlette officiating. Burial is at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
