Description	:	Mark W. Mason Jr., 94, of Fort Madison, died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at his home. Born March 26, 1911, in Kirksville, Mo., he was the son of Mark W. and Jessie Tipton Mason. On Aug. 30, 1932, he married Anna M. Bohnenkamp in Fort Madison. Mr. Mason worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 14 years and was a meat cutter for Ron's Market for 20 years until his retirement. Mason Jr., 94, of Fort Madison, died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at his home. Born March 26, 1911, in Kirksville, Mo., he was the son of Mark W. and Jessie Tipton Mason. On Aug. 30, 1932, he married Anna M. Bohnenkamp in Fort Madison. Mr. Mason worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 14 years and was a meat cutter for Ron's Market for 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a fourth degree Knights of Columbus, where he served as a past grandkinght. He formerly served on the Fort Madison City Council. Survivors include his wife of Fort Madison; two sons, Robert Mason of Kissimmee, Fla., and Frank Mason of Fort Madison; five daughters, Floradean Schier of Fort Madison, Norma Jean Muerhoff of Grand Blanc, Mich., Marcella Honadel of Fort Madison, Mary Ann Mueller of Aurora, Colo., and Betty Albers of Fort Madison; 26 grandchildren; 30 great–grandchildren; five great–great–grandchildren; one sister, Martha Nicholson of Fort Madison; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers, and two sisters. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Tuesday at King–Lynk Funeral Home, with family meeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Mason will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church in Fort Madison, with the Rev. Thomas Parlette officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fort Madison. A memorial has been established for Lee County Hospice. Published in The Hawk Eye (Sep/6/2005)
