Description	:	Anne Marie Beneke, the seventh of twelve children, was born to Michael and Eva Jahner on March 7, 1931 in Selfridge, North Dakota. She spent her early years in Selfridge, moving to Bismarck, ND at age 10 and later met and married Henry Fischer Sr. in June, 1949. This marriage resulted in six children until Henry suddenly and tragically passed away in 1964. This marriage resulted in six children until Henry suddenly and tragically passed away in 1964. Faced with the challenges of a young family and the hardships of survival in North Dakota, Anne bravely moved her growing brood to Anaconda which has been her residence for the majority of her remaining years. In 1965, Anne met and married Cristobal O. Valdez Sr. and completed her family with the birth of a son in 1966. In 1974, Anne married Roy Beneke. Widowed twice, Anne displayed the grit and determination to raise seven children; Angela Mary, Henry Michael, Eva Rose (Phil Ross), Delbert Duane, Gilbert (Kody) Dean, Frederick Jack (Liz) Fischer, and Cristobal O. Valdez Jr. (Robin). She is survived by her children and her sisters Christine Fode and Katy Deichert. She leaves behind a grieving posterity of 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and their children, and daughter in-law Ann Noteboom. Anne survived the passing of her husbands; brothers Frank, Pete, Pius and Jack Jahner, sisters Barbara Jahner, Pauline Jones, Wilma Leaton, Rose Magdaline Jahner, and Rose Wilson, three grandchildren; Baby boy Fischer (Eva 1972), Michael Orta (Angela, 2002) and Cassie Fischer (Henry, 2002); 1 great-grand daughter Fischer (Shelly) and daughter-in-law Mary Lou Fischer (Henry, 2005) and lifelong friends Earl and Lena Fode. Anne's life was neither convenient nor conventional. An extremely proud and persevering woman, she broke many barriers and accomplished much in her lifetime. Despite disability, single parenthood and stigma, Anne's abiding will and independence drove her desire to always provide for her family whether it meant cleaning rooms, cooking in a kitchen, cleaning bricks at demolition sites or even working the local potato harvests, which she did at an incomparable pace. Anne was a willing grandparent and helped to rear many of her grandchildren. She loved Westerns, John Wayne and Gunsmoke! She was an avid card player and a fierce Pinocle and Canasta player and it was often around the card table that she dispensed her wisdom and shared smiles and love of cards, of competition and of family. Anne's final years were improved and likely lengthened by the loving care of her children and grandchildren especially her devoted daughter Angela and son Delbert. She was loved by many and admired by all who knew her will and fortitude. To many of her family members to only be fondly described as “Their Hero”. A committed Mom, Gram and Great Gram she will be missed until we reunite with her, again, in Heaven. Services for Anne will be held Monday, March 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church located at 501 Cedar Street, Anaconda, MT followed by a luncheon at the church. A Family Memorial for Anne and her recently departed sister, Rose Wilson, will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Opportunity Community Club, Opportunity, MT.
