Description	:	Mrs. Rev. E. C. Monhardt departed this life Thursday evening, March 19 at her home one mile west of Clatonia., Nebr. Mrs. Monhardt was the youngest daughter of Rev. and Mrs. G. Gruber. Read More	Mrs. Rev. E. C. Monhardt departed this life Thursday evening, March 19 at her home one mile west of Clatonia., Nebr. Mrs. Monhardt was the youngest daughter of Rev. and Mrs. G. Gruber. She was born April 5th, 1874 at Van Wert, Ohio, and baptized at the same place on April 19th, 1874. When her father accepted a call to Nebraska she came with her parents to the Ev. Luth. Immanuel congregation near Utica. Nebr. Here she received her instruction in the Christian doctrines and was confirmed on April 17th, 1887. In 1891 her father accepted a call to Prairie du Chien, Wis., and she went with the family to Wisconsin. Here she was united in marriage with her surviving husband Rev. E. C. Monhardt, who at the time was in the ministry at Muscoda, Wis. This was on September 20, 1893. When Rev. Monhardt accepted a call from Garrison, Nebr. in 1903 she came with the family to Nebr. and lived from 1903 until 1912 at Garrison and since 1912 at Clatonia. The marriage union was blessed with six children, 2 sons and 4 daughters. She was in failing health for some years, and finally had to submit to an operation for gall stone on January 10, this year. She never regained her strength, but on February 23rd she was brought home from the hospital, with the hope that she would recover at home. Serious complications set in and eliminated all chance of recovery. Realizing her serious condition she in a Christian manner prepared to meet her Lord, who fulfilled her wish and took her from the vale of tears to His eternal kingdom. She leaves to mourn her early departure her husband, Pastor E. C. Monhardt, six children; Mrs. Albert Neitzel, St. Francis, Kansas; Oscar Monhardt at home; Mrs. George Wurm, near Crete, Nebr; Malinda Monhardt at home; Emil J. Monhardt, Lincoln, Nebr.; Mrs. Harold Schuerman, near DeWitt, Nebr.; ten grandchildren; four brothers, Wm. Gruber, Gresham, Neb., Fred Gruber, San Francisco, Cal., Otto Gruber, Ravenna, Nebr., Immanuel Gruber, St. Paul, Minn., and many other relatives and friends. She attained the age of 61 years, 11 months and 14 days. She was laid to rest last Monday afternoon in the Lutheran Zion Church Cemetery. Services at the home were conducted by Rev. I Frey, who also conducted the service at the cemetery. In church the Rev. J. Witt from Norfolk, Nebr. spoke words of comfort in the German language and Rev. J.
