She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, and the Zion Daughters Class of the Sunday School. She was employed at the Vindobona Nursing Home. Born near Middletown, April 25, 1922, Mrs. Summers was a daughter of the late Seymour W. and Annie Florence Johnson Summers. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, and the Zion Daughters Class of the Sunday School. She was employed at the Vindobona Nursing Home. Surviving besides her husband are three children, Becky Alkire, Fairfax, Va.; Fay Raginski, Myersville; and Harold Summers, Jefferson; five grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters, Francis Summers, Middletown; Caroline Barkley, Englewood, Fl.; Gernie Paden, Hagerstown; Isabelle McGee and Edna Easton, both of Venice, Fl.; Virginia May, Wheeling, WV; Edward Summers, Frederick; and John Summers, Middletown. She was predeceased by a brother, Gene Summers. Services were held at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown; interment in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown. He was the husband of the late Anna Mary Summers. Born in Myersville on April 28, 1918, he was a son of the late Chester Franklin and Emma Kate Smith Summers. In his early years he was a self-employed milk truck driver and also was engaged in farming with his father. He was also employed with Richard B. Rudy for 19 years as a truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, social member of Middletown Amvets, the Patriotic Club in Frederick, member of the Loyal Order of Moose, and the Myersville Hunting Club. He was also a member and former President of the Harmony Coronet Band for more than 79 years. He is survived by two children, Fay E. Raginski, Myersville; and Harold E. Summers, Myersville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, mary Kathleen Loy, Frederick; Ruth Naomi Harne and Margaret Louise Bowlus, both of Middletown. He was predeceased by a daughter, Rebeckah Summers Alkire; and the following brothers and sisters, Frances Elizabeth rice, Ivan Leroy Summers and Grace Edna Summers. Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown; interment was in the church cemetery; arrangements were by the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown.
