She spent her early years and received her education in Indiana. She moved to Washington when she was 15 years of age. In 1914 she married Walter Church at Alma, WA. Church was born August 28, 1898 At Terre Haute, Indiana to Harry and Fannie Strode. She spent her early years and received her education in Indiana. She moved to Washington when she was 15 years of age. In 1914 she married Walter Church at Alma, WA. Following their marriage, they made their home at Aberdeen, WA. In 1925 the Church family moved to the Yakima Valley where they farmed and in 1977 moved to Sunnyside. Her husband Walter Church died in 1977 and she continued to make her home in Sunnyside until the time of her death. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Sunnyside. She is survived by one daughter, Iris Murphy of Prosser, WA; six sons, Robert Church of Sunnyside, Rev. Clarence Church of Dallas, Texas, Dale Church of Rescue, CA, Lyle Church of Half Moon Bay, CA, Leslie Church of Milwaukie, OR and Eldon Church of Battle Ground, WA; 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and nine great great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kathryn Backer of Seattle, WA.
