ANNA DOTY She Passed Away at Her Home in Lexington, Aug. 14. Ill for a year and a half with pulmonary tuberculosis, Mrs. Anna Doty, the wife of Charles O. Doty and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Styskal of David City, died at her home in Lexington at 12:35 o'clock Saturday morning, Aug. 14, at the age of 32 years, one month and three days. Her illness was the result of a severe attack of pneumonia that she contracted while living in David City some two years ago. She spent a year in a sanitarium in Denver in hope of recovery, going from there to Lexington last April. Born in David City July 11, 1883, Anna Mildred Styskal resided here until after her marriage. She was graduated from David City high school with the class of 1902 and was married in David City to Charles Doty January 22, 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Doty went to Wellington, Kas., after their marriage, residing there a couple of years, and then moved to Omaha where they lived 2 ½ years. They were in Omaha at the time of the tornado in March, 1913, and lost most of their belongings. They then came to David City. Besides her husband, Mrs. Doty leaves a daughter, Margaret, aged five years, and a son, John, who is 2 ½ years old. She is also survived by her parents, one brother, Frank, residing near David City, and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Bastar of Colon and Mrs. Rose Gates, Miss Lillian Styskal, and Mrs. Margaret Anderson, who live in David City. Margaret Doty will go to Colon to make her home with her aunt, Mrs. Bastar, and little John Doty will remain here with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Styskal. Mrs. Doty during her life had made a host of friends who sincerely mourn her loss, as was evidenced by the large attendance at the funeral and the many beautiful floral offerings. Hers was a sweet and kindly life, one of love and faithfulness to her family and friends. She was a most devoted wife and mother, lavishing the utmost care on her little son and daughter until her failing health compelled her to be separated from them. Mrs. Doty's body was brought to David City Sunday and funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning in St. Mary's Catholic church, of which Mrs. Doty was member during her life. Requiem high mass was solemnized by Rev. Father Gerard Boll, assisted by Rev. Father T. P. Haley of Lexington and Rev. Father J. C. Hoffman of Bellwood. Singing was by MIsses Helen Bouse, Elizabeth Daniels, Mae Delaney and Anna Litty, Mrs. Leo Delaney and Lottie Dworak. The pallbearers were W. C. Buchta, E. A. Coufal, E. J. Dworak, John Eberly, Loran Jordan and A. V. Thomas. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery near David City. In attendance at the funeral from elsewhere were Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Bastar of Colon, Mrs. A. Bastar and Robert Kirchman of Wahoo, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Doty and son, Russell, of Omaha, Dr. and Mrs. J. K. Sewell of Fremont, Mrs. J. F. Gereke and daughter, Mrs. Vera Louis, of Seward, J. N. Doty of Milford, and L. I.
