The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the members of the family in their bereavement. Anna Strickler, daughter of T.H. and Lucinda Strickler, was born on April 22, 1849, in Fayette County, Pa., and passed away Oct. 11, 1929 at the home of her son Will southwest of Collins, at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 19 days. At the age of 13 years, she moved with her parents to Iowa, settling in Johnson county, a few years later coming to Jasper county. She was united in marriage to T.J. Morrison on Oct. 16, 1867. To this union were born six children, three daughters and three sons: Will and Till Morrison of Collins, Tom of Maxwell, and Mrs. Grace Hall of Des Moines, Viola Augusta who died in infancy and Clara Elizabeth Carver, who passed away Nov. 2, 1918. Her husband preceded her in death 14 years ago Oct. 10. She was next to the oldest of a family of nine children, seven girls and two boys, all of whom preceded her in death except two brothers. The family came here in an early day, and she well realized some of the hardships of pioneer life. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Morrison settled on the old Morrison homestead, where they lived until the fall of 1900, when they moved to Collins, where she made her home until the last few years which she spent among her children. At an early age, she united with the Church of Christ, her last membership being with the church at Collins, although on account of ill health, for a number of years, she has not been permitted to take an active part. She never lost interest in her Church nor faith in her Lord and Master. She is survived by four children, Will, Till, Grace and Tom: eleven grandchildren: two brothers, James Strickler of Rhodes and Till Strickler of Collins, and a host of friends and other relatives.
