Olson, 86 IRWIN - Anna Olava Olson, daughter of Ole and Anna Roe Hamre was born March 23, 1902 at Olen, Norway. She was educated in Norway and in 1925, came to America. She worked as a house keeper until her marriage to Jesse Olson May 10, 1930, at Des Moines. They farmed near Irwin and she retired to Irwin in 1975. She was a devoted member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Irwin and a member of the Jefferson Friendly Club. She died Feb. 4, 1989 at Salem Nursing Home in Elk Horn at age 86 years, 10 months and 11 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse in 1964; three sisters, Serena Hamre, Sigrid Tofte and Eli Fresvik and seven brothers Harry, Torbjarn, Sigvald, Gerhard, Ole, John and Einar Hamre. Survivors include her daughter, JoAnn (Mrs Paul) Edmondson of Manilla; her brother, Chris Hamre of Fairmont, MN; four grandchildren and five greal grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Feb. 6, 1989 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin with Rev. Douglas Mathison officiating. Burial was in the Danway cemetery with Howard Gaer, Henry Olson, Karl Edmondson, Kevin Schwieso Jerry Edmondson and Richard Edmondson serving as casket bearers.
