Harlan, Iowa News Advertiser Friday December 26, 2003 page 13A Lois JoAnn Edmondson, 72 April 22, 1931 - Nov. 3, 2003 BELLA VISTA, AR — Lois JoAnn Edmondson, daughter of Jesse and Anna (Hamre) Olson, was born April 22, 1931, on her parents' farm in rural Irwin. She attended country school and graduated from Irwin High School in 1950. She then attended two years of business college in Council Bluffs. Oct. 17, 1954, she married Paul Richard Edmondson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin. The couple lived in Council Bluffs, where Paul worked as a truck driver and JoAnn cared for their home. In 1975, they moved to JoAnn's family farm home. They retired to Bella Vista, AR in 1999. JoAnn was formerly a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin, where she was involved in many church activities. Most recently, she was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista, AR. JoAnn died Nov. 3, 2003, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, at age 72 years. six months and 12 days. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband of 49 years. Paul Edmondson of Beta Vista, AR; three sons, Richard Edmondson of Altoona; Jerry Edmondson of Des Moines; and Karl Edmondson of Irvine, CA; one daughter, Carol Schwieso of Oakland; five grandchildren, Jesse Schwieso, Jason Schwieso, Cody Schwieso, Jeremy Edmondson and Amy Edmondson; and other relatives. Funeral services were held Nov. 6, 2003, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin, with Pastor Victor N. Johnston officiating. Casket bearers were Jesse Schwieso, Jason Schwieso, Cody Schwieso, Jeremy Edmondson, Henry Olson and Eugene Monson. Burial was in the Danway Cemetery in rural Irwin. The Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. . .
