She was born April 8, 1936, in Wenona and was the daughter of the late Vaughn Jennings Evans and Ella Shores Daniels. Anna Ruth worked for Shore Up Inc. as a Head Start teacher for 32 years at the Dames Quarter, Eden and Princess Anne schools. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Wenona. She was loved attending the Church of God of Prophecy in Chance and going to gospel hymn sings around the Shore. She is survived by her husband, Jabez (Ting) Webster of Deal Island; three daughters, Faye Hanson and husband, Dave, of Moyock, N.C., Sharlene Oppel and Debbie Curtis and a son, William Curtis, and wife, Karen, all of Princess Anne; 12 grandchildren, Ron Pearson, Rhonda Poole, Shannon Richart and Renee Pearson, all of North Carolina, Jason Oppel, Justin Oppel, Lisa Gustafason, Charlotte Gustafason, Robbie Wink, Jamie Wink, Megan and Matthew Curtis, all of Princess Anne; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, E. Kay Daniels, Joan Townsend and Myrtle Bransford, and a brother, Tommy Daniels; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William James Curtis, and brothers, Norman and William Benton and Barney Evans. The family would like to give special thanks to Coastal Hospice, especially Vicky and Paul, and Diane Hall and Tommy Travers for their care and support during her illness. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Wenona. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne and Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Paul's United Methodist Church Cemetery.
