Daughter of Abram Frakes and Amanda Victoria Simpson Frakes. Married Edward C Kunce on August 3, 1899 in Jefferson county, Iowa. They had eight children before Edward's untimely death in a railroad accident on the tracks in Fairfield, Iowa in 1921. A son was born to Anna on July 25, 1921, so he was not accounted for in the obituary of Edward Kunce since Edward died in January 1921. --------- Anna remarried to an Elmer Roush. (Update: According to familysearch.org Anna Kunce married Elmer Rouch 21 Oct. 1939 in Muscatine, Iowa. This information is provided by Mary Barnett on January 5, 2011. The surname spelling is different from other sources, it should be noted). Update: January 8, 2013: now that the 1940 U.S. Census reports are available on Ancestry it appears that Elmer and Anna Roush lived in Davenport, Scott county, Iowa at that time. Two of Anna's children also lived with them at that time. --------- Anna was buried in the same plot at Evergreen cemtetery with Edward C Kunce. A son, Robert Dale Kunce, is also buried in this plot. --------- Note: Although Edward's obituary stated that there were eight children born, it overlooked that Anna was pregnant with their ninth child, a son, who was born on July 25, 1921. That son is still living as of January 2013 and lives in Iowa. The Iowa and U.S. Census reports from 1925 through 1940 lists the given name with numerous variations, which led this son to change his first name to a more conventional spelling. Because he is still living his name is not posted to this memorial at this time. Notification that this son existed was brought to the attention of this contributor via a SAC on January 7, 2013, the person making the contact being a grandchild of this son of Edward and Anna Kunce. Information about other family members would be appreciated. ---------------- A son was Irven W. Kunce, who died in 1985 and is buried in Rock Island, Illinois.
