All the grandchildren remember having Easter egg hunts at their Grandparents house at No.9. Once, on a rainy Easter Sunday, they hid the eggs in the bedrooms. One was forgotten and when summer came, there was odoriferous evidence of the good times, now not so good! When the Beatles were to play on Ed Sullivan, the children happened to be at Grandma & Grandpa's. When it was time to leave granddaughter Barbara refused to leave until they had played. Grandpa thought they was so funny and the kids, too for making a big deal out of it. He made funny comments the whole time, but at least they all enjoyed the memorable event made more memorable by Grandpa. Another granddaughter, Delores, remembers playing cards at No. 9 with the boys. It was winter so the coal stove was set up in the area they were playing. They were in middle of a game of pitch and grandpa got up and threw his cards in the stove--said he didn't like his hand!!!! He had a subtle sense of humor you could not miss! It was a happy time at the Kastelic house. A little crazy because of the loud voices, many children and constant activities, but a place to remember with love. Of course, the potica and cinnamon rolls also helped!!!
